BSS Advances Soundweb OMNI Platform into Audio, Video and Control with Networked AV, USB-over-IP and Flexible Touch Panels
At InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas, HARMAN Professional Solutions unveiled a major expansion of the BSS Soundweb OMNI platform, introducing integrated AV-over-IP video distribution alongside new app‑defined control touch panels. Together, these announcements reflect a significant expansion of the BSS Soundweb OMNI platform into a unified, end‑to‑end AV ecosystem spanning audio, video, USB distribution over IP and Touch Panel (user interaction) products.
OMNI Networked AV
Central to the launch is the OMNI Networked AV portfolio, which brings video, audio and USB distribution into the OMNI platform. Built on purpose‑designed hardware and managed through HARMAN’s AVX Suite software, the new range contains three series: OMNI 600, 300 and 200—each engineered to address specific application requirements, from high-performance, low-latency video to bandwidth-efficient streaming and network-routable USB connectivity.
OMNI 600 Series
The OMNI 600 Series addresses performance‑critical applications with support for 4K60 4:4:4 video, ultra‑low latency and Motion Wavelet Compression for high‑quality rendering of fast‑moving or detailed content. It integrates Dante AV‑A, Dante audio, and USB 2.0 distribution, along with features such as seamless switching, video wall processing, and enterprise‑grade security. Its capabilities position it for demanding environments including higher education, corporate, government and large venues.
OMNI 300 Series
The OMNI 300 Series focuses on efficient AV distribution across shared networks. Using H.264 and H.265 compression, it enables high‑quality 4K streaming while generating a secondary 1080p stream for recording or third‑party platforms. USB‑C connectivity supports collaboration workflows, including conversion between Dante audio and USB AV. With Dante AV‑H interoperability and centralised management, it is suited for meeting spaces, hospitality, retail, and hybrid learning environments.
OMNI 200 Series
Completing the lineup, the OMNI 200 Series emphasises professional-grade USB 2.0 routing and extension over IP for collaboration‑centric environments. Leveraging Virtual Network USB 2.0 Hub technology, it enables a host to connect up to four devices across multiple endpoints over standard Gigabit Ethernet, supporting up to 480 Mbps. Integrated Dante audio and PoE+ support make it a practical solution for conferencing, collaboration spaces and multi-purpose AV environments where reliable USB connectivity is important.
OMNI Touch Panels
Complementing the OMNI Networked AV portfolio, OMNI Touch Panels extend OMNI into the user interface layer. These app‑defined panels adapt to different use cases through selectable “App Personas,” including AV control, room scheduling, kiosk applications and fully customisable deployments via an Any‑App mode. This flexibility allows a single hardware platform to support a wide range of roles without dedicated devices.
Designed for enterprise environments, the panels include integrated microphones, speakers, and a front‑facing HD camera for conferencing applications, alongside features such as customizable LED indicators, NFC, and environmental sensors. Flexible mounting options support consistent deployment across varied spaces, from meeting rooms to education and hospitality settings.
All OMNI components are configured and managed through AVX Suite, reinforcing a unified approach to system design, deployment and monitoring. The result is a scalable platform that simplifies integration while supporting evolving AV requirements within a consistent architecture.
