QUICK FIVE! GET TO KNOW LESLEY

How old is the oldest pair of shoes in your closet?
I did a closet clear-out during the Covid lockdowns, so it’s probably now the tried and true, worn in, which of course increases the comfort, Havaiana jandals from 5 or so summers ago.

What energises you at work?
Working the problem and finding a solution that works for everyone. Especially the thing that’s been hanging around for a while that may have been put in the too hard basket or on the back burner for whatever reason.

What’s your favourite comfort media?
That’s a hard one since it’s linked directly to the ‘mood’ of the moment. I’m known to switch between cranking the tunes from a well-travelled Spotify playlist that covers all sorts of genre to binge re-watching classic TV series like Buffy or Bones or taking a more immersive approach playing VR games with my Meta 3. It really does depend on my mood, but they are the go-to.

Name one thing that your colleagues do not know about you.
My evening downtime is often filled with Lego. Yes, Lego. Specifically, the expert, creator and brand collab builds. I recently finished the Pac Man Arcade build and am now doing the biggest set in the Expert Theme Park series, the Loop Rollercoaster – complete with the upgrade to include the motorised kit of course.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
Trail riding with friends on my Kawasaki KLX250. I upgraded to the newest model recently so it’s still in the breaking in phase which makes it more fun going full tilt all in the name of ‘running it in’ – but  being newer also means it looks way too clean and shiny for your average dirt bike! On more sedate days, doing DIY around my house or helping a friend with their Villa reno tends to be how the hours are whittled away.
