AMX has introduced six products for meeting and lecture spaces using platforms like Zoom and Teams, providing the ability to distribute multiple video inputs to multiple video outputs in 4K60 4:4:4 resolution.
The Precis Series offers a range of 4K60 4:4:4 HDMI products that create versatile solutions for meeting spaces and classrooms driven by software-based conferencing platforms like Zoom and Teams.
With the ability to integrate source content via the AMX HDMI to USB capture device, you can switch up to eight sources with four AMX Precis 4K60 Matrix Switchers, and dynamically window up to four sources into two mirrored outputs via the AMX Precis Windowing Processor. These products ensure spaces are well equipped for incredibly impactful collaboration.
Suitable for video routing in small to medium installations, the new Precis PR-Series Matrix Switchers are available in four configurations – 4×2, 6×2, 4×4 and 8×8. All models include best-in- class capabilities like pixel-for-pixel video reproduction, fast switching, comprehensive EDID management, HDMI audio de-embedding, an open control API and a simple-to-use web interface.
The AMX PR-WP-412 combined a 4×1+1 windowing and a 4×2 matrix switcher in a single, compact unit. Collaboration in meetings and distance learning can be enhanced and amplified with included technologies like switching, 4K60 4:4:4 video quality, integrated audio breakaway, an open control API and web interface.
The UVC1-4K capture device solves the immediate issue of PCs that lack HDMI or other video inputs. The UVC1-4K delivers content from video cameras, document cameras or other HDMI sources into software-based conferencing and streaming applications via the computer’s USB port. Features include 4K60 4:4:4 video input, HDMI and separate analogue audio input, standard UVC interface and control, and USB 3.0 output up to 3840x2160p@30fps.

AMX by HARMAN have announced an addition to its 4K60 4:4:4 distance transport switching solution with the release of four new AMX DXLink 4K60 Fibre input/output (I/O) boards, transmitters and receivers.
The new fibre modules offer the ultimate in security and support for extended distances and are fully compatible with AMX Enova DGX 100 Series enclosures. This offers a simple upgrade of existing systems without investing in an entirely new system architecture. These new modules accompany the twisted pair boards, endpoints and Enova DGX enclosures released previously.
Government entities, Universities, Casinos and other security-focused installations will benefit greatly by using the new DGX 4K60 fibre products. Previously, high-security operations had to settle for either reduced resolutions over a single fibre connection or full resolution over multiple fibre runs. The new DGX 4K60 products offer 4K 4:4:4 video at 60 fps over a single fibre-optic cable, providing uncompromised image quality in applications like government operations centres and hospitals.

RF Venue have launched the 8 Channel COMBINE8 In-Ear Monitor Combiner. Combining up to 8 IEM transmitters in a single rack space at a lower price than pairing up multiple 4 channel units.
Making the move from floor wedges blasting in your face to In Ear Monitors (IEMs) can greatly improve your on-stage performance as well as the listening conditions for your audience as they will now hear a more true mix from the PA system. You can virtually eliminate feedback and you can also incorporate things such as click and backing tracks without your audience hearing them. It should be noted this can be of great value when you are streaming your performance online as you will be eliminating a lot of unintentional bleed.
However, adding 4, 6 or 8 IEMs to your wireless microphones causes added strain on that system and can lead to unreliable performance and poor sound quality if you add 8 additional antennas. Simply put, the more antennas you have, the more potential problems you have. Fewer antennas is always preferable to an antenna farm.
Adding an IEM combiner is simply the correct way to do it. In the past combining more than 4 IEM transmitters meant linking multiple combiners or purchasing a very expensive combiner. But today RF Venue is very pleased to announce the new COMBINE8 IEM combiner. You can now combine up to 8 IEM transmitters in a single rack space and at a lower price than pairing up multiple 4 channel units.
COMBINE8 actively combines signals of up to eight in-ear monitor transmitters into one single transmitting antenna, reducing clutter, signal interference and lowering the probability of intermodulation artifacts.
RF Venue COMBINE8 is designed to work with all brands of IEM that are set to transmit at 50 mW or less. It provides DC power for up to 8 IEM transmitters with an external power supply, removing the need for wall warts.
RF Venue are offering these as a separate rack unit COMBINE8 or as an upgrade pack COMB8CPB The upgrade pack is a special order only in NZ and is bundled with everything you need to wire up to 8 IEM transmitters and to provide DC power for these transmitters using the supplied power block. The upgrade pack includes the patented CP Beam helical antenna along with a premium quality 25’ RG8x coax cable. Helical antennas outperform paddle or whip antennas for IEM use by adding additional reliability to your system as they eliminate polarisation dropouts (a leading cause of dropouts on stage).
COMBINE8 will work with all brands of unlicensed IEM transmitters that operate in the UHF TV band, analogue or digital (or both!). Simply plug your transmitter into the 8 inputs, connect the dc power supply and run the coaxial cable from the output to the CP Beam antenna.
PERFORMANCE TIPS:
Antenna combiners can greatly lower Intermodulation (IM) products that can interfere with your receivers and reduce the number of open channels you might have to tune to. IM products can also be reduced by setting your IEM and wireless mic transmitters to their lowest power level that works in your venue. Power causes problems so the less you can use the better.
Unless you are using your IEMs across a football field you almost never want to run them at full 50 mW power levels. 30 mW or better 10 mW will provide better performance and less interference. While that may seem counterintuitive, remember that the CP Beam antenna has almost 10dB of gain so even after you have backed off the transmit power you will still have more power than the stock whip antenna but with much lower distortion in your signal.
Don’t forget to separate your IEM antenna from your wireless mic receiver’s antenna by at least 6 feet since one antenna is pitching and one is catching. Think about this the same way you do when you place microphones away from speakers to avoid feedback.
Another tip to optimizing your setup is to stagger your transmitter’s channel frequencies across even and odd input pairs.
Picture that you have 8 channels from low frequency to high frequency. We’ll call transmitter channel 1 the lowest frequency and channel 8 the highest frequency. When you assign your transmitters to the chosen frequencies (hopefully selected with the aid of a frequency coordination program) put TX channel 1 into input 1, put TX channel 5 into input channel 2, 2 with 6, 3 with 7 and 4 with 8. This will likely help reduce the likelihood of intermod buildup depending on exactly the frequencies you have selected. Check out the photo below.

AVIO Adapters
Audinate added two new models to its line of Dante AVIO audio adapters, offering USB-C and Bluetooth connectivity for use with Dante networks. The AVIO family of adapters allow users to use non-networked audio equipment on a Dante audio network. AVIO is available in one or two-channel analogue input or output configurations as well as AES3/EBU, USB and now Bluetooth versions.
The Dante AVIO USB-C adapter ADP-USBC-AU-2X2 allows devices with USB-C ports to deliver and receive two channels of audio with a Dante audio network. It is a class-compliant USB audio device that requires no additional drivers and works with any application, making it suitable for rapid setup of conference rooms, background music and more. The Dante AVIO USB-C adapter may be powered by the connected device or via PoE and it works with common USB-C to USB-A adapters. When using PoE, it features power pass-through for mobile devices, enabling smartphones to remain charged while connected to a Dante network.
The Dante AVIO Bluetooth adapter ADP-BT-AU-2X1 provides wireless connectivity to Dante networks for mobile devices and computers and is ideal for both playback from smartphones to larger sound systems, and for connecting networked speakers and microphones to conferencing software. Once configured, a user may rely upon Bluetooth to switch from local smartphone audio to a complete conferencing system to share what is being said with others.

The receiver has built-in scaling, allowing the display to receive content in its native resolution regardless of the source.
AMX Conferencing Connectivity and Transport Kit (CTC-1402)
The Conferencing Connectivity and Transport kit was created to target web conferencing solutions where cameras, microphones, and other USB devices are installed in the room. The solution combines multi-format 4K60 video switching, scaling and distance transport with USB 2.0 peripheral switching. This allows dynamic sharing of room USB peripherals such as an AMX Acendo Vibe between visiting laptops, etc., and permanently installed devices such as an Acendo Core or room PC. This ensures excellent sound and visuals for guests whether they are using installed equipment or bringing their own devices.

The DSi 2.0 amplifier family, JBL’s first line of dedicated cinema amplifiers, builds on Crown’s DSI Digital Screen Array amplifier technology and integrates best-in-class CDi DriveCore DSP to deliver potent, cost-effective amplification and audio networking capabilities for JBL’s entire range of cinema loudspeakers. JPRO recently presented an exclusive demo of the JBL VTX A8 to a select group of entertainment and commercial industry representatives in Christchurch.
The VTX A8 is a compact line array system available in installed and tour formats for small to medium sized venues. VTX A8 and its bigger brother VTX A12 have impressed this year during NZ’s Summer Festivals – being used extensively with touring artists and music festivals such as Toto, UB40, Slayer, KORA, Sound Splash and The Hollies.
The demo took place at the newly rebuilt Christchurch Town Hall in the exquisite James Hay Theatre.
“It’s fantastic that we are able to use venues such as the James Hay Theatre to allow audiences to get a first-hand impression of the JBL VTX A8,” comments JPRO’s Tour Sound Manager Tim Robertson. “This is a new sound from JBL and it is important for people to experience the transparent, smooth sound for themselves. I enjoyed watching everyone’s response when the system is run in full range – we had jaws dropping when we told our guests that we were not running the subs.”
After a full range demo, JBL’s new generation of subwoofers, VTX B18 were used in 90 degree sub-array configuration, while the VTX M Series touring wedges were demonstrated on stage. The cardioid subwoofer configuration cancels out sub-bass spill on the stage, allowing for a quieter stage for performances.
Due to a tight schedule the crew were able to provide a fast setup – with final system checks ready to go in less than 90 minutes. “This is thanks to the VTX A-series newly devised world-leading rigging system, travel carts and packaging system, which allows crews to be far more efficient for transport, set up and pack down,” says Tim Robertson, Tour Sound Manager at JPRO. “The ease of use and information flow between system calculation and deployment is effortless. We have received comments stating that the rigging and system configuration is the best available. A special mention to our crews who did a marvellous job getting everything together.”
Following the success of the demo at James Hay and in Auckland, by popular demand a JBL VTX workshop and A8 demo is being planned for Wellington later in the year.
“The response at James Hay from the industry has truly been overwhelming and we would like to thank everyone for attending,” says Andrew Sorrill, Customer Support and Marketing at JPRO. “We would like to get as many industry professionals in New Zealand as possible to experience the system for themselves. JPRO recently launched JBL’s new medium to large format line array at the ASB Theatre in Auckland.
Designed from the ground up, the JBL VTX A12 is a dual 12″ three-way line array element that has been purpose built for mid to large size touring applications and high-end fixed installations.
Guests were introduced to the theory behind the technologies of the A12 before being allowed hands-on demonstrations of the system.
“We wanted our guests to understand the philosophy behind the technology of the VTX A12 and then to experience first-hand the innovative new features such as the ease of set up due to the redesigned rigging system,” says JPRO Tour Sound Manager Tim Robertson. “We then gave each person the opportunity to conduct their own listening tests on the system.”
The listening tests have impressed, especially with regard to the “new JBL sound” with some varying responses from guests.
“I’ve never tested anything so uniformly flat both on and off axis in the HF range, and they have heaps of detail there,” says sound engineer Chris Tait from College Hill Productions.
JBL have patented a rigging mechanism and redesigned the suspension system that has streamlined deployment and setup.
“The rigging is incredible – one of the fastest I’ve seen for a line array,” says Ray Ward of NZ Sound. “It looks like it could be a one-man job to bring the PA up and down. The coverage and sound of the A12’s were fantastic, much smoother than I thought they would be.”
Regarding the innovative rigging element, Danielle de Waal from Oceania Audio adds: “I weigh 60kg and I can put the whole system up myself – that’s just so mind blowing.”
“There has been fantastic interest with the VTX A12 locally and our aim is to have it added to technical riders in the New Zealand market,” concludes JPRO’ Tim Robertson. “The VTX A12 has appeared at numerous festivals in the US, while JBL VTX line array systems have been used by a number of International artists such as Pitbull, Demi Lovato, Enrique Iglesius, Neil Diamond, Linkin Park, Kesha, DJ Zedd and Lenny Kravitz. VTX-A12 will be added to technical riders when the system becomes fully available after the promotional tours.”
