The five star luxury hotel Sofitel Queenstown located in the heart of Queenstown has installed a high quality Harman Audio Solution for its Multi-Purpose Conference Room, Executive Lounge, Main Jazz Lounge and Bar areas.
After careful consultation with the client Simon Patterson, Director, NZ Sound and Vision, specified an AV solution controlled by a BSS Soundweb BLU-100 networked audio processor. Simon comments “The video requirements were such that with the addition of a Multi Format Presentation Switch all the control could be handled from Soundweb which reduced the overall cost for the client.”
A BSS Soundweb BLU-100 12x8 processor controls the four zones within the venue. Remote control for the Executive Lounge is handled by a BSS Contrio EC-4BV wall controller, three EC-8BV located in the Bar control the Bar, Main Jazz Lounge and Executive Lounge areas and an iPad mounted in an in-wall iPort, controls the AV requirements for the Multi-Purpose Conference Room.
The Main Jazz Lounge is equipped with a simple and intuitive Soundcraft Signature Series 12 channel mixer, an AKG WMS420 vocal handheld wireless system and two of the “Swiss Army Knife” of microphones AKG's C1000S multi-purpose small diaphragm condenser, which can be used for recording and live sound.
A Multi Format Presentation Switch connected to Soundweb via RS-232 handles the video switching requirements in the Multi-Purpose Conference Room, the Projectors are connected via Ethernet and the Screen contacts are connected using the GPO outputs. BSS Soundweb seamlessly controls commands via the iPad with an easy-to-use control panel designed in HiQnet Motion Control software. Nicholas from Jpro comments “This system really showcases the versatility of the BSS Soundweb range of processors when it comes to controlling venues like this”.
Throughout the areas JBL Control 10 Series Control16CT coaxial 2-way in-ceiling loudspeakers in both white and black have been used. Powering the loudspeakers is a Crown DCi Drivecore DCI4300 multi-channel amplifier.
