Air New Zealand Sydney Lounge

Air New Zealand Sydney Lounge

"Multi-zone audio system for Air New Zealand's new world-class airport lounge at Sydney Airport."

CASE STUDY: RESTAURANT AUDIO SYSTEM

Air New Zealand has opened it ground breaking lounge at Sydney Airport. The Sydney lounge upgrade is part of a $40 million upgrade of the airline's lounges at the busiest ports it flies into. The 1500sqm lounge features a mix of spaces, including a kids zone, and can cater for around 300 guests.

The Harman audio solution for this multi-zone venue consists of a BSS BLU-100 controlling the audio processing, Crown DCi4600N network amplifier and JBL Control 24CT-M ceiling speakers throughout the venue. A JBL CSPM1 was used for paging announcements.

Ambient noise compensation was handled by Soundweb and AKG CBL99 boundary microphones installed throughout the venue. When the background noise of the lounge increases soundweb automatically and increases the volume of the audio system and conversely when the background noise decreases the volume is reduced.
